چکیده

Abstract The paper considers the relationship between textural and structural features gross mineral chemical composition of minerals physical properties apatite-nepheline ores their processing. It is noted that change in involves primarily due to apatite depletion. An increase content nepheline pyroxene 35-55 % sharply increases ore strength up 47-104 MPa, which entails growth energy consumption for grinding. important factor contains high-strength poikilitic intergrowths with nepheline, pyroxene, titanite, about 20 fine-grained concentrated, extraction a complex technological problem. authors attribute main factors deteriorating product quality. According studies, unstable varies P 2 O 5 (37.20-42.6 %), SrO (2.29-5.36 Tr 3 (0.51-1.05 %). may affect flotation quality concentrate.

Magmatic origin of giant ‘Kiruna-type’ apatite-iron-oxide ores in Central Sweden

Iron is the most important metal for modern industry and Sweden is by far the largest iron-producer in Europe, yet the genesis of Sweden's main iron-source, the 'Kiruna-type' apatite-iron-oxide ores, remains enigmatic. We show that magnetites from the largest central Swedish 'Kiruna-type' deposit at Grängesberg have δ(18)O values between -0.4 and +3.7‰, while the 1.90-1.88 Ga meta-volcanic host...

Magmatic Interaction as Recorded in Texture and Composition of Plagioclase Phenocrysts from the Sirjan Area, Urumieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc, Iran

Tertiary andesitic basalts of the Sirjan area, Urmieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc, Iran, contain plagioclase phenocrysts enclosed in a matrix of amphibole, clinopyroxene and rare olivine crystals. Textural and compositional evidence suggests two significantly different types of plagioclase phenocrysts occur in the andesitic basalts. The most common type of plagioclase phenocrysts have zoning patterns ...

Inhomogeneous Distribution of Magmatic Volatiles in the Lunar Interior: Clues from the Mineral Apatite

Introduction: The magmatic volatiles water, fluorine, and chlorine play critical roles in the physicochemical processes that control thermal stabilities of minerals and melts, magma eruptive processes, and transport of economically important metals. While these volatiles are significant constituents in many terrestrial and martian magmas, lunar magmas are generally depleted in these three volat...

Normative calculation of mineral composition in Cr ores of the ophiolite complexes from SE Iran

Specific elements (Cr, Al, Ca, and Si) and loss on ignition (LOI) were used for semi-quantitative determination of the normative mineralogical composition of naturally occurring chromium ores in ophiolite complexes. By far the occurring ore minerals are complex both from the mineralogical and chemical viewpoints. The secondary minerals serpentine and Cr-containing chlorite (kaemmererite) form n...
